Sharing
Visibility levels for ongoing access, share links for handing someone a memo.
NemoMemo separates two ideas: visibility (who can always see a memo) and share links (a URL that opens one memo for anyone, regardless of visibility).
Visibility
Set per memo in the editor: Private (you), Protected (signed-in members), or Public (everyone, when the instance is public). Public memos appear on the Explore feed and your profile.
Share links
From a memo's menu, choose Share… and create a link. Share links:
- work for anyone, signed in or not — even for private memos,
- expire after 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or never (your choice),
- expose only the memo, its attachments, and its reactions — never comments or the memo's connections,
- can be revoked at any time from the same dialog.
A share link to a Dory memo dies when she forgets it, whatever the link's own expiry.
Public mode
The instance-wide Public mode switch (Settings → Reef) controls whether anonymous visitors can see anything at all. Turn it off and Explore, profiles, and public memos all require sign-in; share links keep working, since handing someone a link is always an explicit act.
