NemoMemo Cloud
The hosted version — your own private reef, no server required.
Don't want to run a server? NemoMemo Cloud is the same software, hosted for you:
your own private reef at your-name.trynemomemo.com for $1.99/month or $19/year.
See pricing for the current details.
How it works
- Try the demo first. There's no trial — the live demo is the try-before-you-buy.
- Check out with Stripe. Card handling is entirely Stripe's; we never see your number.
- Claim your reef. Right after payment you pick your subdomain and create the first account — you're the reefkeeper (admin). The whole thing takes about a minute.
- Invite your school. Members, visibility, comments, Dory — everything in these docs works exactly the same on Cloud.
Keep the claim link from your checkout page safe until you've claimed — it's also stored on your Stripe receipt's customer record if you lose it.
What's different from self-hosting?
Almost nothing — that's the point. The differences:
- We run it: updates, monitoring, and nightly off-server backups are our job. Need to roll back to an earlier day? You can do it yourself: Settings → Backups → Go back to an earlier day lists every nightly snapshot of your reef — pick a date, confirm, and a few minutes later your reef is back to that morning (we keep the pre-restore state as a safety copy on the server). If anything looks off, reach out and we'll help.
- Isolation: every reef is its own separate database. Other customers' reefs are physically invisible to yours.
- Fair use: memos are unlimited; each reef includes up to 25 members and 5 GB of attachments. These are abuse brakes, not upsells — ask if you need more.
- Billing lives in Settings: reefkeepers get a Billing tab with subscription status and the Stripe portal for card changes and cancellation.
Leaving (we'll miss you)
Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Your reef stays up through what you've paid for, then sleeps for 90 days (data intact, sign-in blocked) before it's permanently deleted. Resubscribe in that window and it wakes right up. And since NemoMemo is free to self-host, you can always export your data and self-host the same reef yourself.
See the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the fine print.
If a payment lapses
Your reef never disappears without warning. A failed payment emails you and marks the reef past due (everything keeps working — update your card in Settings → Billing). If the subscription fully lapses, the reef takes a nap: visiting it shows a "Wake it up" button that reopens checkout on your existing account — fix the payment and everything is exactly as you left it.
Napping reefs are kept for 90 days, then deleted for good (that's the promise in our terms — your data doesn't linger after you've left). Want your memos out before then? Settings → Backups gives you the full download any time, and any memo can be saved as a plain Markdown file from its ⋯ → Copy menu.
